Community Breakfast
Our “Community Breakfast” is served on the 4th Saturday of each month. This is a free, community event open to all. The breakfast not only serves to fight food insecurity by providing a nutritious morning meal, but it also serves as a crucial social gathering that strengthens local ties. The environment is cheerful and conversational, as guests gather to socialize and connect with friends, old and new, over a meal. This provides a space for community building and fosters a sense of belonging.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist in areas like setting up, cooking, cleaning, serving, or even just hanging out and chatting with guests. We work together to make sure everyone has a great time! Whether someone is here to enjoy a meal, pitch in, or do both, it's always a pleasure to spend some quality time together.
Blessing Box
Located in the First Pres parking lot, our “Blessing Box” is an outdoor pantry that provides non-perishable food and essential hygiene items to those in need, operating on the principle of "Take what you need, leave what you can - with no questions asked.” This small, anonymous pantry is open to everyone and aims to combat food insecurity with empathy and without stigma. The Blessing Box is stocked daily by our volunteers; and community members, as well as our flock, have shown great generosity by donating items.
The Blessing Box contains:
-
Non-perishable food: Canned goods, boxed meals, pasta, rice, cereal, and individually packaged snacks
-
Personal hygiene items: Soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine care products
-
Other household essentials: Diapers, toilet paper, and laundry detergent
